By Capt'n's request, I bring you my first fan-fic, Ice and Flame.
This is a random idea I got while I was walking home. I thought it was so good I wanted to write it. There is no picture of the territory because 1. I have a reason and 2. I'm too lazy to draw one with my bad art skills. Please don't steal my names. I worked hard to come up with them. If they happen to be names you've used before it's purely coincidence. Prologue
A group of cats stared up at the huge rock that stood where the field met the forest, and stood next to a huge tree. They watched as two cats sat and talked. “We are the only leaders left, Icestar” said the orange cat said, her green eyes blazing, “Why not remake our clans? Everyone is looking to us. We could have the pick of the best cats for our clans.” “Good point, Flamestar,” answered Icestar, “Most of the clans are wiped out, and there are only enough for two clans left. We were not effected by the Twoleg poison because of where we live. I, however will choose my cats first.” “And we can drive off those who are too weak,” said Flamestar. Icestar nodded in agreement. He jumped down and looked among the cats. He picked his own deputy, Hailclaw. he then chose the calmest, silentest cats, who were good thinkers and smart fighters. He grouped the cats away from the others, by the big tree. Flamestar ordered her deputy, Amberpelt, to stand next to the rock. She chose the strongest, and those who were brave, those who would fight for the clan at not thought to their own lives. She sent them over to Amberpelt to wait for her. There was still, however, cats left. Icestar and Flamestar stood together and told the cats, “You must leave the forest and never return!” Some cats, afraid of the leaders, ran out of the territory. Most of those cats stayed, even though they were weak; this was their home. “So be it!” snarled Flamestar, “ATTACK!” The cat of the two new clans attacked, killing or injuring the weaker cat. They kill cats who had formerly been in their clan, and even killed brothers and sisters. The leaders returned to the rock when all the weak cats were gone or dead. “You have done well,” said Icestar. Suddenly the moon was covered over, and StarClan spoke to the assembled cats. “Blood has killed blood, and the anger of StarClan is upon you. Yes, you will have peace, for a time. But beware those whose fur is colored blood; they will bring down your mighty clans, and make them trust those they have no regard for. Only then will there be true peace.” Icestar glanced at Flamestar. “Well, IceClan will be here next full moon. We will take the forest, and you take the plain.” Flamestar nodded, “FlameClan will be here. Come cats of FlameClan!” Flamestar dashed of over the field, while Icestar still felt the dread of StarClan's message.

(((This makes it look small =P))) Chapter one
A pale white she cat stood near the edge of the camp, feeling the wind ruffle her fur. Her brown eyes scanned her surroundings. She couldn't wait for the Gathering tonight, and it was almost time to go. She spotted a tan cat running toward her. The cat spotted her. “Shiningpaw, help me!” she called. Shiningpaw's eyes widened with shock. It was Breeze, Shimmeringsand's sister who had turned loner. Shimmeringsand and Breeze had come to the clan as kits, but Breeze didn't like clan life and left. Shiningpaw caught sight of a fox chasing Breeze and attacked it. Shiningpaw bit hard into the fox's blood-red fur., the fox yipped, and Shiningpaw bit deep into its neck, killing it. She fell back, bleeding profusely and fainted. Tidepool ran out of her den when she heard the fighting. “Help me get her into my den,” she said to Breeze. They moved Shiningpaw to the entrance, before they were met by Webstar, Dawnwhisker and many of the other clan cats. “What's going on?” asked Webstar. “I was running from some foxes,” said Breeze, “Shiningpaw saved me.” Shiningpaw nodded, since she had woken back up. “She is a courageous fighter and I was going to name her warrior soon, but now's a good time anyway,” said Webstar. “All cat's old enough to catch their own prey gather under Highstone for a clan meeting.” Webstar paused for the cats to assemble. “As you now know, Shining paw courageously saved Breeze from the fox.” The cats all murmered; Shiningpaw was well liked. “It is now her time to become a warrior. Shinningpaw, You have been a courageous cat and are as kind as you are firece. You will be known from this day forth as Shiningfeather.” The cats cheered and gathered around Shiningfeather. Breeze came up to Webstar. “There's more for you to know,” said she, “There are many foxes out there. Their numbers are growing all the time. It think they will so become a danger to you. Webstar nodded, then looked at the sky it's time to go to the gathering anyway,” she said, “come with us, Breeze.” Breeze looked out at the forest, then nodded. All the cats gathered. “Dawnwhisker, I want you to stay and guard the camp.” Dawnwhisker nodded. “Shimmeringsand, Eaglethunder, Oceanflower, Frozenleaf and Mudpaw, you will come to the gathering.” The cats dashed to the edge of camp, then left for the gathering.

Chapter two
Tidepool when down before the rest of her clan. “Hey, Moonflame,” she said, spotting Baypaw, “I see you have an apprentice.” Moonflame nodded and smiled. “He has been an apprentice for about a moon now,” she said. Baypaw smiled shyly. “How do you like being a medicine cat apprentice?” Tidepool asked. “It's fun,” mewed Baypaw. “Why don't you go hang out with Spottedpaw and Smokepaw?” said Moonflame. Baypaw nodded and went over to where the other two apprentices were. Moonflame and Tidepool moved closer together to talk. Mudpaw was excited. He was finally able to come to a gathering! “Go hang out with the apprentices,” his mentor, Shimmeringsand told him, “and don't bug the warriors.” Mudpaw nodded, and trotted down with the rest of the clan. He gasped when he saw the ancient tree and the huge rock, and then spotted two apprentices sitting next the huge rock. He pause as the warriors went to talk with the warriors of FlameClan. There were three of them, a black tom, a light gray tom, and a auburn colored she-cat. Mudpaw continued toward the two apprentices, a white she-cat with dark gray patches, and a light gray tom. “Hi, I'm Mudpaw,” he said. “I'm Spottedpaw,” said the she-cat, “and this is Smokepaw.” Smokepaw grunted, but ignored Mudpaw. “What's wrong with him?”asked Mudpaw. “His sister, Daisypaw, died yesterday,” said Spottedpaw sadly. She noticed a tan apprentice coming over. “Hi, Baypaw,” said Spottedpaw cheerfully, “This is Mudpaw from IceClan.” Baypaw nodded politely to Mudpaw. “He's the medicine cat apprentice,” said Spottedpaw. Mudpaw smiled. He was beginning to like this apprentice. He saw Webstar jump up onto the rock, as well as a dark brown tom. “That's Acornstar,” whispered Spottedpaw. “You can go first,” murmured Webstar. Acornstar nodded. “FlameClan has been doing well. We did however have one of our apprentices, Daisypaw, die when she ran into a fox.” Acornstar paused as cat murmured in sorrow; Daisypaw had been well liked. Acornstar continued. “We do have a new warrior, Skydream.” he paused again as cats murmured congratulations to the gray tom. Acornstar stepped back and motioned for Webstar to come forward. “First I would like to say that we have a new apprentice, Mudpaw.” Mudpaw's eyes shined as he was recognized, even if he had been an apprentice for over a half moon. “We also have a new warrior, Shiningfe

Chapter three
Spottedpaw left the gathering feeling worried. “Do you think that those foxes Breeze was talking about are really a threat?” she asked her friend, Baypaw. “Foxes never really bother us, Spottedpaw,” he told her, “If there is any danger StarClan will tell us.” He sounded so confident, Spottedpaw thought. He was the medicine cat apprentice, so he must be right. She saw the camp up ahead. All of FlameClan's land was flat and without cover. The camp, however, looked like a huge thorn bush; underneath the thorns was the camp, which looked like a huge ditch. The only thing the clan DIDN'T do there was to hunt; training was even there. The camp was totally cover, and even if a kit stood in the middle of the camp, it would be safe. The best part was the dens, which were cool caves in the side of the ditch that were warm in the winter and cool in the summer. “Come on, lazy paws! I'll beat you to the den!” her brother, Rockpaw, called to her. “Bet not!” she called back, speeding toward the camp, and the secret entrance. Baypaw hung back, thinking. He had been to the IceClan camp before and knew how much trouble they were likely to have. IceClan camp was also surrounded by thorns, and trees over shadowed it. The leader's den and the nursery were below the Highstone, but the elders were in a hollow tree trunk that the warriors had hollowed out, and both the warriors and apprentices slept in areas surrounded by a woven barrier. Worse that that was the territory had many places for a fox to hide. Baypaw wouldn't even wish anything like that on any cat. “Come along, Baypaw,” his mentor called. Baypaw nodded and entered the camp. Spottedpaw was woken by a cry. “Treekit's gone!” wailed Frozenleaf. Spottedpaw remembered something Treekit had said to her last night. “I can too beat up a fox cub,” the kit had said. Spottedpaw suddenly felt cold. She came out and saw Rosethorn. “Rosethorn, I think I know where the kit is, but I'm not sure,” she said to the old warrior. Rosethorn nodded, “If we're going to act, it should be now. Treekit has been gone all night.” The two cats quickly slipped out, and Spottedpaw scented Treekit. The scent was heading toward IceClan territory. Rosethorn led while Spottedpaw was wallowing in her mixed up feelings. They suddenly heard Treekit calling. With a burst of speed, Spottedpaw came closer and saw what it was. A fox! Spottedpaw paused in confusing, but Rosethorn didn't hesitate in attacking it. She slashed at it and managed to give it a fatal neck wound before it gave her a fatal wound. It happened so fast. Treekit crouching there, paralyzed in fear and Rosethorn suddenly attacking and then dead. Spottedpaw lunged at the fox, but the fox fled from her. She came over and buried her nose into Rosethorn's pelt. They were still very far into FlameClan territory, but they had been attacked by a fox. Maybe the foxes WERE as much a danger as Breeze had thought. She heard a patrol running along behind her. There was Fernpool, Spiderfur, and Eveningflame. “No!” gasped Fernpool. Rosethron was her mother. She and Spiderfur gathered close to mourn with her and Eveningflame took care of Treekit. None of this mattered to Spottedpaw. My fault, she thought, this is all my fault.

Chapter four
It was several days after the gathering, but there were no problems with foxes. Tidepool frowned; she would soon go to the MoonFall and she was sure that StarClan would tell her if there was any danger. Elmkit came into her den. “Yes?” she said with a smile. “Well, I was, err, I was wondering if you needed any help?” he mewed hopefully. He was close to his sixth moon and Tidepool thought he would make a good apprentice. She shook her head, but then heard noise out in the camp. It was Breeze and she was bleeding badly. “I need some of your warriors!” she was frantically telling Webstar. He wanted to know why, but Breeze only said she was going back with or without warriors. Shimmeringsand, Eaglethunder and Oceanflower volunteered. Webstar nodded, and he led the cats who dashed after Breeze. The cats burst into a small field at the edge of the territory. It was filled with foxes. Breeze desperately clawed her way through the foxes, sending many of them running from her vicious attack. The rest of the patrol joined in the attack, biting and clawing at the foxes in reach. Shimmeringsand saw Webstar go down in the battle, but could reach him. As if stunned by the vicious attack from the cats, the foxes fled. Then IceClan cats saw it in the blood-covered clearing; the body of a dead cat, and Breeze crouched next to it. When they came closer, they saw she was grieving. “Who's that?” murmured Shimmeringsand softly. Breeze didn't lift her tear stained face from the body. “My Ash,” she whispered. A yowl came from Eaglethunder. It was Webstar! Shimmeringsand left his grieving sister. Webstar was just barely alive. “Oceanflower, go get Tidepool,” ordered Shimmeringsand. After Oceanflower had left, Eaglethunder and he took hold of the leader and dragged him to the camp. When they arrived, Tidepool was waiting for them. “Take him into the den,” she said. “What happened!?” she demanded as soon as they got into her den. “There were more foxes that we expected,” Shimmeringsand said. “There were more that the whole clan could take care of!” added Eaglethunder. Webstar stirred. “Get Dawnwhisker. There's nothing you can do, Tidepool,” he said, “This is my last life.” “I'll go get Dawnwhisker,” said Eaglethunder, leaving the medicine den. “But you had two more left!” said Tidepool. Webstar shook his head. “Those foxes ganged up on me. I think the fact that StarClan brought me back startled them enough that they didn't kill me again, but I was severely wounded.” Dawnwhisker came into the medicine den. Webstar watched her. “Dawnwhisker,” he whispered, “I'm dieing and it's up to you to save the clan. You must leave the territory or IceClan will be destroyed. You have been a good deputy and will be a good leader. The burden of a leader is heavy, but rewarding. Lead well and with my blessing.” With that, he took his last breath. Dawnwhisker was startled. She left to think. When Shimmeringsand exited the medicine den, the whole camp seemed numb. Shimmeringsand then remembered his sister. He dashed out of the camp to find her burying the body of the cat called Ash. She turned around to face him. “Today has been a sad day,” she murmered. Shimmeringsand nodded. “Who was that cat, Breeze? What was he doing here?” “He was my mate Ash. He was a loner I met and we fell in love. He is skittish around large numbers of cats, which is why you never saw him. We're on the edge of the territory, anyway. That made it easer.” Shimmeringsand noticed two sets of eyes peering from a small cave. “What is that?” “My kits,” said Breeze, “Come out kits, and meet your uncle.” Two kits crept into the failing light of the sun. One was a brown and gray she-cat with bright yellow eyes and the other was a dark gray tom with blue eyes. “Shimmeringsand, these are my kits, Rabbitkit and Granitekit, and they are going to join IceClan with me.”

(((Sorry if this isn't that good. I had a Writer's block.))) Chapter five
The whole clan morned the loss of their leader, while at the same time Breeze held her vigil over her mate. She stayed there long, knowing her kits were safe. Meanwhile, Granitekit and Rabbitkit were in the nursery with Duskkit, Midnightkit and Elmkit, who were a moon older than them. “How long do we have to stay with this clan,” complained Granitekit. “As long as Mother tells us to,” Rabbitkit replied, “I like it.” “I don't,” growled Granitekit. “What's wrong with our clan,” said Duskkit hotly. Granitekit curled his lip, “You are always ordered around, even if you aren't a kit. Mother has been telling us about loners and Clan cats. I think loners are smart for staying on their own.” He went to sit alone in the corner. “Don't worry about him,” said Rabbitkit, “I like your clan, and I think that it's cool. Granitekit just doesn't like being ordered around. Mother and Father have always thought that that he would take on the name Granite when he was old enough and be a loner. I find clan life fascinating.” Midnightkit nodded, “Everything is the way it is for a reason.” Elmkit glanced outside and sighed, “I wish that those foxes didn't exist.” “You can't wish problems away,” said Duskkit. Elmkit sighed again, “I know. I bet Shimmeringsand will be deputy.” “Nuh uh,” retorted Duskkit, “It'll be Eaglethunder! All the warriors say so.” “Don't be so sure,” muttered Midnightkit.
Tidepool came into the leader den. “Time to go,” she said, poking the sleeping Dawnwhisker. It was the day after the battle with the foxes, and it was time for Dawnwhisker to go to the Moonfall to receive her leader name. Dawnwhisker ate the herbs, then followed Tidepool out of the den. “Wait, there's one thing I want to do,” said Dawnwhisker, “All cats old enough to kill their own prey gather here under HighStone for a clan meeting.” All the cats sat before, wondering what was going on. “As you know, I am going to Moonfall to receive my lives,” She said, “But before I go, there are two things I would like to do. I say these words before StarClan that they may here and approve my choice. Shimmeringsand will be the new deputy of IceClan.” Cats yowled their approval, and Shimmeringsand was stunned. He thought it would be Eaglethunder. “Also,” continued Dawnwhisker, “Three new apprentices. Duskpaw, your mentor will be Eaglethunder, who I hope will teach you to be more cautious. Shiningfeather, you are a good solid cat, you will mentor Midnightpaw. Teach her how to have a little fun while following the warrior code.” The apprentices and mentors touched noses. “Elmpaw, you will be the new Medicine cat apprentice, and you will be coming with us to Moonfall.” Elmpaw came over to his new mentor, who gave his traveling herbs. “Let's go,” Dawnwhisker said to Tidepool, and the tree cats headed to Moonfall.

Chapter six
Elmpaw ran after Tidepool, wondering what would happen. Soon, the three cats met up with Moonflame and Baypaw. "Why is Dawnwhisker here?" asked Moonflame. "Webstar died," said Tidepool bluntly. The two medicine cats went right up in the lead, while Dawnwhisker trailed behind the apprentices. "I'm Baypaw, Moonflame's apprentice," said Baypaw. "I'm Elmpaw. I just became an apprentice tonight," said Elmpaw, "What's it like being a medicine cat?" "Well, it's sort of fun, and you can go on to the other clan territory without being attacked," said Baypaw, "but we're not supposed to abuse that right." "That's cool!" exclaimed Elmpaw, and soon the apprentices were out of hearing range. Dawnwhisker sighed as she settled in the moonlight on top of the rockfall known as MoonFall.
Dawnwhisker suddenly found herself sitting beside the gathering rock, surrounded by mist. She looked around to see 9 figures approaching her. One stepped forward. It was Webstar! His glossy coat shone, and he smiled. "Dawnwhisker, we welcome you," he said,"You have always been a strong cat; that's why I chose you. It is my pleasure to give you your first life. With this life , I give you wisdom to rule your clan justly." Dawnwhisker eagerly reached forward, but didn't expect the sudden feel of a heavy burden, making her cry out in agony. Webstar stepped back into the mist.
Another cat stepped forward, his gray pelt sparling. "Grassclaw." said Dawnwhisker. They had become warriors together, but Grassclaw had died on here first patrol, keeping foxes from reaching the camp. "With this life, I give you loyalty to stay true to your clan," Grassclaw said, smiling at her old friend. She reached out, and touched Dawnwhisker, who felt a rush of fierce affection for her clan, and it astonished her. Grassclaw smiled and stepped back.
The third cat stepped out. His fur was as black as night, and his eyes were bright green. He grinned, showing his namesake. "Whitefang." Not only had Whitefang been the the deputy before her, he had been her mentor. He had died at the same time as Grassclaw. "use this life to give strength to your clan, even if it seems you can't go on." He turned to leave but Dawnwhisker said, "Wait!" Whitefang paused. "I-I wanted to say I'm sorry for not helping you," said Dawnwhisker, looking away. "No, Dawnwhisker," said Whitefang, gently bringing her face up, "there was nothing you could do. It was my fate." He turned and faded away. A dark brown tom came forward, his yellow eyes sparkling. "Bramblestripe!" Dawnwhisker greeted her brother. Bramblestripe had been medicine cat, but died trying to protect some kits from a group of rouges. "I really missed you," she told Brablestripe. "I know it's been hard, but there are time coming when IceClan needs your strength," said Bramblestripe, "Use this life to heal your clan and bond them together." The life flowed through Dawnwhisker like a cooling stream. She didn't notice when Bramblestripe left her.
A light brown tom with dark grey eyes came forward. "Nutpaw." said Dawnwhisker with a gasp. Nutpaw had been her apprentice, but one day he just disappeared. "Don't trouble yourself. There was nothing you could do. I went out hunting and was hit by a Twoleg monster," said Nutpaw, his eyes glowing cheerful like they always had, "use this life I give to teach your clan as you do an apprentice." Dawnwhisker shuttered at the unexpected pain.
A light brown she-cat with with unique purple eyes replaced Nutpaw. "Mother!" purred Dawnwhisker. Violeteye smiled, "You have done well, my daughter. With this life, I give you understanding to reach out to others inyour clan." Dawnwhisker felt a jolt run through her.
A dark blue she-cat stepped forward. "Hello, Treemoss," said Dawnwhisker. Treemoss had died giving birth to her kits. Treemoss's bright green eyes sparkled, "With this life, I wish you to protect your clan as a mother with her kits." At this, Dawnwhisker saw her clan as helpless kits, and she fiercely defended them from faceless dangers. This one tired her the most.
A tiny figure stepped out next. "Sunkit?" said Dawnwhisker, startled. Sunkit was her brother, who died when they were 5 moons old. "This isn't so bad," the kit said, "With this life, I give you patience to deal with every problem that comes along.
When Sunkit had left, Dawnwhisker wasn't sure if she could handle the next. She was half afraid of what was next. A dark brown tom stepped out, his gray eyes sparkling with love. "Hazelfur!!" exclaimed Dawnwhisker. Her breath came up short. "Hello, Dawnwhisker. I see you've been well," purred Hazelfur. Hazelfur and Dawnwhisker had fallen in love before Dawnwhisker had become deputy. Hazelfur had died of green cough. That had devistated Dawnwhisker, and she had never loved another as much as him. "With this life i give you love," said Hazelfur, and it seemed to Dawnwhisker that he softened it a little. "Don't go yet!" she said. "There is much I wish we could talk about and maybe some day we can, but not right now," said Hazelfur, "Very soon you will need to be strong, and you will need a living cat to help you. Don't shun him because of me, I'm already to far for you to catch me. One day, when you join StarClan, we will be together." Hazelfur stepped back. "Dawnstar! Dawnstar!" echoed StarClan, while Dawnstar sat there and sobbed.

(((To all my used to be fans, sorry about taking so long. I've been busy.)))
Chapter seven
Dawnstar trailed after the medicine cat, depressed and still a little weak from the ceremony. Suddenly, Eaglethunder dashed up with the FlameClan deputy, Spiderfur. “Shimmeringsand thought you should hear this,” said Eaglethunder, gasping. He nodded for Spiderfur to talk. “Acornstar wants to meet with you now by the GatheringRock. It's very important,” she said, fear showing in her normally cool voice. Dawnstar nodded. Who could it hurt to do this? she thought. “Elmpaw, go back to camp. Eaglethunder, Tidepool, you come with me,” said Dawnstar. Eaglethunder and Tidepool nodded, but Elmpaw was crestfallen. “You go back to camp, Baypaw,” said Spiderfur, “Acornstar wants you there, Moonflame.” Moonflame nodded. “See you at the gathering,” said Baypaw to Elmpaw with a smile. He turned and headed for the FlameClan camp. Elmpaw watched his new friend go and then turned to go to the IceClan camp. Then he thought, I could follow them and then get back to camp before they knew I followed them. He knew they wouldn't expect it since it was something his brother Duskpaw would do. When the four cats dashed off, he followed them.
Acornstar was sitting at the base of the GatheringRock as they dashed past the GatheringTree. Moonflame sat on one side of him and Spiderfur on the other. “Where's Webstar?” asked Acornstar with a small frown. “He died when we save one of our cats from foxes. There were too many,” said Dawnstar, “I just received my nine lives, and Shimmeringsand is the new deputy. But you didn't want to meet just to talk about that. What was so important?” Acornstar sighed. “let me start from the beginning.
“One of our elders, Rosethorn, was killed saving Treekit from a large male fox. It went downhill from there. any cat that went out just hunting alone would come back injured with a tale of being attacked by foxes. Soon our patrols and large hunting parties were attacked by large groups of foxes. We are starving, slowly but surely.” Dawnstar suddenly realized how thin Acornstar and Spiderfur were it was hard to tell with Moonflame since she had always been thin. “We've also had fox problems and the foxes are getting bolder everyday.” “Maybe our clans should move,” suggested Tidepool, looking at Moonflame. Moonflame's eyes widened and nodded. “I agree.” she said, “If we don't we'll be destroyed.” “What do you mean?” asked Dawnstar, puzzled. “There was a prophecy,” said Acornstar, “it says 'beware those whose fur is colored blood; they will bring down your mighty clans, and make them trust those they have no regard for. Only then will there be true peace' Up until now, no one understood it. But now we know the foxes are 'those whose fur is colored blood' and we must flee or else we'll be destroyed.”
Dawnstar realized that it was all waiting on her answer. “Whither or not IceClan come, FlamClan is leaving,” said Acornstar, waiting for Dawnstar to reply. Then there was a cry, and Elmpaw tumbled down into the Gathering area, chased by a huge fox. Eaglethunder leaped at the fox, but was beaten by Spiderfur. The two IceClan warrior joined the FlameClan deputy's attack. The fox was confused by the two attackers, and bleeding from many areas. When it reared up, Spiderfur killed it with a solid blow. “Thank you!” exclaimed Elmpaw, scrambling over to his menor, limping because he hurt his paw.
